Bara, made of coarsely woven seagrass, immediately catches the eye with its playful look. The rectangular rug has soft fringes at the ends that give it that certain something.
You can use the small rug as a runner in the hallway or bathroom to relax the room climate a little, but it also looks great as a foot cosy next to the bed. We really like this application because it wakes our feet up every morning with the pleasantly rough feeling of seaweed.

Our carpets are made from plant fibers. They therefore smell and feel wonderfully natural.
What basket makers usually call “sea grass” is not actually a (sub)aquatic plant, but a small, palm-like plant that is widespread on sandy beaches in the tropics of Asia. The leaves of the plants, which are often cultivated by humans, are separated, cut into strips, dried and then processed by hand.

This rug is handmade in Java, Indonesia.
When selecting our local producers, we attach great importance to fair payment and good working conditions. In the factories from which we source our goods, we only work with adult and experienced craftsmen. No harmful chemicals are used in the production process. As all work steps are carried out by hand, the production process causes hardly any greenhouse gas emissions. We ensure all of this through regular on-site visits and ongoing personal contact with the companies.
