Liku is made by a small family business that specializes in rattan, with the idea of bringing lightness and a good atmosphere into your home. The modern and simple design of vertical black rattan fibers shades the light in a calming striped pattern.
A metal frame defines the round shape of the lampshade and reinforces the material so that it is relatively robust and can withstand several movements without any problems.
Liku is available in two sizes and is supplied without a cable, but you can buy it in the desired length and color at any DIY store. A light source is also not included.

Main material: Rattan
Rattan palms tend to grow in large quantities in dense forests, where they are considered invasive plants because they take up space from other plants and remove many nutrients from the soil. The stalks, which grow back quickly without chemical additives, must be cut off regularly and can be used as material for furniture and baskets after the drying process. This makes rattan an extremely sustainable and abundantly available material.

This lampshade is handmade in Bali, Indonesia.
When selecting our local producers, we attach great importance to fair payment and good working conditions. In the factories where we source our goods, we work exclusively with adult and experienced artisans. No harmful chemicals are used in the manufacturing process. As all work steps are carried out by hand, the production process causes hardly any greenhouse gas emissions. We ensure all of this through regular on-site visits and ongoing personal contact with the companies.
